Hi. I have open book 9.0 and a twain scanner on a computer with jaws 13 and windows 7. Ever since I got this computer, I can't seem to use the feature in open book to identify money. It says scan gear no image to identify or a message like that. Any ideas how to trick the computer to identify bills? I have buck scan set right. Suggestions appreciated.

The problem here is the driver for your scanner. Most scanner manufacturers have blocked currency from being scanned to stop folks from making counterfeit bills. It's pretty much standard now.

Really? I was super excited when I got mine but ultimately disappointed. It read error more often than not. I would sell it but I'd feel guilty for doing so. I use Looktell Money Reader for IPhone. That's been the best so far in my experience.

that's a bummer, DG. I know several people who have the ibill and have never heard anything bad about it.
I only ever have slight troubles with a bill so worn that it is soft and wrinkled. and even then, I can get it to read in three tries. Wonder if you got a defective product?
But since you have an iphone (I don't) there's no sense you carrying around a separate money identifier anyway.
My recommendation is for someone who doesn't have an iphone or android. Hmm, or ipad, etc.

My i bill broke. I was surprised because I didn't drop it or anything. Kept it in a drawer in a little bag so it wouldn't get knocked around. I could hear a wire rattling around in the speaker when I shook it. For its price, i was pretty disappointed that it broke. I'm told the I bill is improved but I bet the price went up too. Ordered this one from LS and S.
